The Misbourne Flooded seriously during these years. In 2014 it was so bad that despite running commercial pumps in Blizzards yard 24/7 the flooding was present for three months.

Windsurfing in Stone Meadow

The water was so deep the locals took to windsurfing. This water needs the flood plain to naturally avoid further flooding in the
village.

Flood Water has to go somewhere, hence the existence of designated flood plains. Diverting flood water or building on land classified as flood plain may be physically possible but the water will not go away and will most likely end up causing a greater problem in the Village of St Giles or further up or down stream.
