Save St.Giles
s a v e s t g i l e s
Save St Giles was formed in 2015 to help protect and preserve he character of the historic village of Chalfont St Giles, Buckinghamshire. Specifically to draw attention to a proposed housing development at that time which, thanks to the response of the community, resulted in the proposal being rejected. In 2017 the group met with HS2 ltd and went to parliament to make sure the delicate nature of the chalk stream river and the historic village would be respected and prioritised during any tunnelling. HS2 Ltd agreed to monitor the rare chalk stream river and in the unlikely event of any damage, repair the river bed. The group have also supported Protect St Giles Greenbelt, a group who set up to reject a development in High View. Save St Giles will continue to monitor and make residence aware of any concerns moving forward.
